Josh x 3 + Brian = Awesomeness

My favorite guy apartment in my ward, #12, has recently lost one of my favorite people. Matt has left us to go study in England for the Spring and then stay in Washington to work. Boo. The remaining boys got a new roommate. Well, as fate would have it, the new kid's name is Josh...just like the other two Joshes that already live there. Three Joshes in one apartment. Geez. Seems a little bit excessive, doesn't it?
Oh, and one of these Joshes is commonly referred to as "Denise's Josh." Wanna see a pic? Okay, since you asked. This is from a giant group date we participated in. We played CLUE on campus at BYU and had to find the hidden clues. This picture was taken in the courtyard of the JFSB. The clue was "Plunder ye the western depths for the sunken booty."

Look! We found the "sunken booty!"

And in case you can't read what is written in pennies, the word is 'swag' which just happens to be slang for 'plunder or booty.' Who knew?

Wanna see me dance?

Once upon a time there was a group of BYU students who were hep to the jive. They loved to swing and wanted to show their appreciation to one of the greatest swing dancers of all-time, Frankie Manning (http://www.frankiemanning.com/bio.php). This year marks Frankie's 95th birthday and as a tribute to this marvelous man, swing communities across the globe learned his "Shim Sham" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjfM4Wrj9UI&feature=related), recorded themselves, and sent it in to Frankie. So the BYU Swing Kids made a video because we also love Frankie! Hope you enjoy the dance!

Quotes from Professor Oaks

Professor Oaks is my "History of English Language" teacher and he is my favorite. He is hilarious and I am connected to him and his family in the most random ways. In honor of Professor Oaks, have some quotes.

"My dad is like a real-life Forrest Gump...except he's not crazy..." (His dad is Elder Oaks!)

"You've got to lose a little respect for a verb that would compromise its verb strength."

"'Help' was staring at the abyss and said 'I'll become a weak verb.'"

"So I can clearly not choose the glass in front of me!" - imitating the Sicilian from "The Princess Bride"

Not like I'm excited or anything...
